So, I think it is obvious by now that we spend massive amounts of time online.
The internet has become something we can barely live without. It seems to have the same level of importance to us like electricity and even food.
Now, imagine if you could capitalize on that sometimes wasted time, making money as you browse the internet?! Well you can!
Thanks to innovations in digital finance and advertising, the Brave Browser allows you to make money while you surf the internet.
You’d think that perhaps there’s a lame catch to it all but having used the browser myself for some time (even making it my default), I can assure you that you are getting more value out of them than they are getting from you.
First of all, Brave is a great internet browser. It’s fast, its always on the edge of innovation, it is secure and it seems to be working for the people by giving them ways to get better return on investment on their browsing time.
Here are some of the things that make the browser great:
Brave also support Chrome Extensions, so you’re all good there. It was its own crypto wallet, plenty customization, its own search engine to replace Google Search called Brave Search and more.
I own Firefox and the Edge browser by Brave is my default.
Brave Ad Rewards
But, let’s go back to how we make money on it.
Remember how in a previous article I introduced you to the world of cryptocurrency? Well, Brave has their own token called the Basic Attention Token (BAT). How it all works is that, instead of being forced to watch or see ads on your browser, Brave gives you the option to either turn them off or to have them show with added incentive. The more ads you click on the more BAT you get.
I think it is about time we get paid to look at all the ads we get bombarded with online. Its like advertisers finally get to pay for our screen time.
Like all cryptocurrencies, BAT has a dollar value. The highest is has reached, its all time high at the time of writing, was US$1.92 according to CoinMarketCap. This isn’t bad at all. It is also a project with large potential considering how advertising is a huge industry that is always evolving.
Brave has its own crypto wallet so you can store all your earnings there. If that is not what you want you can connect your wallet to one of their partners (Gemini and Uphold).
Based on my experience so far, I can make around 1.5BAT a month. Perhaps this number is more for others. It seems like a small amount but over time it could prove to be big especially if the token continues to gain value.
I am interested to see what they are going to do with this project.
Brave Rewards for Creators
Brave also has another interesting rewards program for creators.
Basically, how it works is that, when you join their program, people can tip you with crypto on your YouTube channel, website, Twitter etc.
I’ve signed up to the program. I have connected my Twitter, my website and YouTube to the program. So basically if anyone wants to tip me with crypto for my work, they can.
Of cause, this is something they have to market better, but I believe as crypto adoption grows, so will the opportunity to make money this way.
Its really as easy as that. By downloading the Brave browser, you can opt into the Brave Rewards Program and you can start earning cryptocurrency while you surf the internet. Most of the time you just have to click the ad notification, it’ll open a page and that’s it.
Having the creator rewards enabled on your online entities will allow the crypto community to show their appreciation for your content by tipping you with crypto.
I wasn’t paid to promote this browser by the way (I WISH), but as techie I am always experimenting with different technologies and I must say, Brave has me hooked. So I am simply spreading the word.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments in the comment section. Enjoy
